Which course is best for your student?

For the 2025/2026 school year, E=mc Academy will be offering six math courses online via one-on-one teaching. If you are not sure if your student is ready for Algebra 1, please read below:
Pre-Algebra and Algebra 1.
The Pre-Algebra course is offered at three different paces. Option 1 is for the high school student that needs to start with basic math and plans to start Algebra 1 the following school year. This course is a nine month program that moves at a steady pace. The student will be expected to do math five days a week. There are four weeks built into this option for sick days and holidays. So with careful planning, the student will complete this course on time and be able to go on those family field trips.
Option 2 of the Pre-Algebra course is for the dedicated but busy homeschooler that needs to start with basic math and plans to start Algebra 1 the following year. This is an eleven month program that covers the exact same information as option 1 but over a longer period of time. This course is designed for the competitive student or drama/dance student that must travel regularly during the school year. This student will complete four lessons each week.

Option 3 of the Pre-Algebra course is for the student that is dedicated and plans to enroll into College Algebra the following year. This is an aggressive schedule and perfect for the student that is committed to making their college dreams a reality! The course starts at basic math and builds to College Algebra. This is a ten month program which covers an additional six chapters compared to option 1 or option 2. The student is expected to do math five days a week with three weeks built in for sick days and holidays.
High School Algebra 1 is for the student with a solid math foundation that has passed the entrance exam for this course or that has successfully completed E=mc Pre-Algebra. This course will prepare the student for high school Geometry or Algebra 2 over a nine month period. The student is expected to complete an assignment five days each week with four weeks built in for sick days or holidays.
At this time, all students must be 14 years old by September 1 of the school year to enroll.
